Hencote, a genuine English wine estate where you can stroll through the vineyard and ancient wet woodlands of the old River Severn, visit the winery to taste the locally produced award-winning wines, dine in a restaurant that sources the best of local and national produce and stay over in a beautifully restored Giorgan Hay Barn or a luxury glamping lodge.

An insistance on authenticity and a keen eye for detail has driven the ccreation of this unique English experience, and they have created a destination with national appeal. For 2019 Shrewsbury Food Festival are thrilled to have Hencote attending with their wine bar and hosting a wine tasting experience for those lucky enough to purchase a ticket.

For £5, visitors entered the world of Hencote, heared the background of the estate, and learned how they made the wine that the visitors tasted.

Wine tasting took place on both days of Shrewsbury Food Festival, and Hencote hosted these events at 12pm and 3pm.

Visitors got the opportunity to taste four wines - one each of white, rosé, red and a sparkling white wine.

Spaces were limited for this unique tasting experience and you could purchase your tickets for this wonderful tasting experience here.
