Win £1,500 for a garden transformation for your SCHOOL OR community group!

David Wilson Homes & Barratt Homes are giving a Shropshire school or community group the chance to transform an outdoor community area.

We'd like to invite community groups across Shropshire to design a new garden for their community space. This could be for a community space that needs a revamp, a patch of grass in need of some colour, or it could be some raised beds at the edge of a care home, village hall, or school. The winner will receive £1,500 for the community project they wish to undertake.

To enter, please submit a photo of the area you want to transform, along with your design and what it could become with the help of David Wilson Homes & Barratt Homes.

Entries must be received by FRIDAY 19th June.

The top 3 designs will be displayed at Shrewsbury Food Festival, where visitors will vote to decide the winning design.

 

Open to schools, nurseries, youth groups, community groups, care homes, and community gardening projects based in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.

 

Entries must be created by the group entering and not by a professional gardener or landscaper.
One entry per school/group.

 

By entering, you confirm that permission has been obtained from parents/guardians for any children appearing in photographs submitted as part of the competition. Shropshire Festivals may use submitted photographs and content for marketing, PR, and promotional purposes.

 

Pupils entering on behalf of a school, please include your age and class.

 

Entries may be featured on Shropshire Festivals' website, relevant social media channels, marketing materials, and press releases.

 

The closing date is Friday 19th June 2026 at 12pm.
Entries received after the deadline may not be considered.

 

The public vote decision is final.


Shropshire Festivals reserves the right to amend the competition if required.
