Volunteers will be able to take on a variety of roles at the Shrewsbury Food Festival and know that they are playing their part in helping good causes locally and you can register your interest HERE or contact us if you have any questions. There's lots of different job roles so we're bound to have one to suit you. We will also be giving away a pair of tickets to Shrewsbury Folk Festival to a volunteer over the weekend so be there to be in with a chance to win!
We would also like to thank our sponsors of the volunteers area at the festival Claremont Accounting who make it possible for us to look after our very special volunteers so well!
We NEED you to volunteer!
Over 100 volunteers will be needed to work at the festival during June 25th and June 26th 2016 if it is to be a success, we have had a great 'team orange' for the last three years !
So why should you volunteer? Well it helps us to give back to the community....Shrewsbury Food Festival is looking to create gardens for local schools, so that youngsters can learn about the journey from farm to fork. They are also looking to create a number of other educational opportunities for local schools to help build links with Shropshire’s rural economy.
Volunteers will be responsible for a programme of community benefit, that will include making donations in kind to groups like Fairtrade Shrewsbury, the Friends of Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Shrewsbury’s Foodbank.
People who are willing to volunteer need only donate a half-day during the weekend – though they can provide more time if they wish to do so. Potential volunteers can register their interest by downloading a form HERE or by contacting email@example.com and the food festival team will be in touch soon to confirm participation.
Previous volunteers have said: "Volunteering is a really worthwhile thing to do. It's a great way to spend the day, a great way of making friends and a great way to be involved in the most progressive festival in town.
"The Shrewsbury Food Festival helps the community and provides economic benefit to businesses locally. I'd encourage people to be involved. Everyone who helps gets free tickets, lunch and a free t-shirt - as well as the satisfaction of being part of this great event."
